News & Notes:

After dispersing the majority of the herd, we are left with two young does that are particularly special to me. Both are out of
my favorite milking does. Chilly comes from Peaches, one of the first does to step foot on this farm. Peaches quickly stole
my heart with her willing attitude, sweet demeanor, and reliability. True to her nature, she gave us triplet kids before
passing away, even staying with us long enough to raise them to weaning age. With two bucks and one doe in the litter,
Chilly was certainly a keeper. As a yearling milker, she impresses me with that same willing attitude and consistency in the
milk pail. And then we have my sweet Sally who is a daughter of SheDaisy. SheDaisy is easily the most impressive doe I've
ever had the opportunity to work with. I wish her the best in her new home. Sally is also from a litter of triplets and reminds
me of her dam very much. From the outstanding dairy character, to demanding head scratches! I'm very excited to see her
freshen. As long as everything goes as planned, the breeding plans for fall are set. I'm very excited to switch to an AI
breeding program as it opens up a whole new world of opportunity with genetics. This will also allow me to close the herd
as biosecurity is a top priority for me. For now, the herd will stay extremely small as they are now my "family milkers" and
we will see if expansion is a possibility in the future. Even though I'm now left with the two, my dedication will not waiver.
The same careful consideration will be made in breeding plans and we will still strive for improvement. I do have a feeling
that these two wonderful does may become overly spoiled! ;)

The Riddler Herd
Our small herd of Lamanchas is nestled in the quiet countryside of southwest Iowa. We are extremely dedicated to the
breed, always seeking advancement and improvement. The herd is a hobby, so only a small number of goats are kept to
help retain focus on our goals of breeding a high quality dairy animal that will perform in the show ring and the milk pail.
Only the best animals in the herd are retained for our breeding program, where we give them everything they need to lead
a healthy, productive, and long life. Special attention is given to feed selection, housing, comfort, space requirements, and
veterinary care. We work closely with our veterinarians to ensure that each goat is kept in peak health and they are tested
and health checked on a regular basis. The members of our herd tend to be a bit spoiled, but they must meet very high
expectations in return! :) We sincerely appreciate your interest in adding a Riddler Lamancha to your herd!
